Frosty Morning : Whilst Cory and her friend Lara did the 'keep fit, jogging' thing I thought I would grab a few shots of the local frozen fishing lake (pond). Note to self: Buy some gloves

Day in London 21-02-09 : Caught the train into London today with the intension of going to London Zoo, most of the tube trains were out of action so the wife and I decided to walk - 14 miles later we arrived with only a couple of hours until the zoo shut so we decided to wander around Regents Park instead and save the zoo for another day. These are some of the shot's of the 'little' walk - hand held shots. Thanks for looking

Hatfield Forest : The Forest extends over 424 hectares, including Wall Wood and Woodside Green. It has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a National Nature Reserve. It is located in northwest Essex, and is an oasis in a landscape dominated by agriculture, M11 and Stansted Airport.

The ecology is in notably pristine condition, only little affected by recent and destructive land use practices, making it one of the largest areas of land in East Anglia which has not been ploughed in historical times. These habitats provide a direct link and continuity with the primeval vegetation cover of Britain and its invertebrate inhabitants.

The ancient coppices and wood pasture are likely to be managed relics of the original wildwood and are now extremely rare providing a last refuge for much rare and specialized wildlife, including dead-wood beetles and fungi, hole-nesting birds and bats, which also have a requirement for unimproved pasture.

The ancient trees, often in excess of 600 years old, created by traditional management practices, are like magnificent living sculptures, peaceful giants worn and fragile from centuries of seasons and use. They encompass much of what is significant about the Forest and each is unique both in shape and in the ecosystem it supports.

Day out in 'Grey' Paris 28-03-09 : My wife took me to Paris for the day for my birthday, the weather was good in the morning but turned thundery in the afternoon changing very quickly. We decided against using the underground insted we walked finding lots of intersting little back streets on our way between the main sights. Most are architectual shots as the buildings were stunning (once you looked beyond the grime) Hope you enjoy the photo's - bit of a mixed bag.

Weald Park with Daniel Bridge : Cory bought me a voucher for a 4 hour 1to1 tuition session with Daniel Bridge to help me come to turms with the DSLR, I learnt far more from him than he reaslises and for that I thank him. These are just some of the photos from our walk around Weald Park in Essex UK, the light was a tad harsh being around the middle of the day with a cloudless sky but I thoughrly enjoyed it and would highly recommend him to anyone in this area. Check out his site here >> http://www.danielbridge.co.uk/

Rainham Marshes : Spent a couple of hours walking around Rainham Marshes today, they have done a terific job but I think a 300 lens just isn't quite long enough.
One of very few ancient landscapes remaining in London, these medieval marshes right next to the River Thames were closed to the public for over 100 years and used as a military firing range.

Essex County Show 13-09-09 : Very grey and overcast day at the Essex County Show, great selection of vintage steam engines, classic cars and bikes and more traditional trade stalls than could shake a whicker basket at.
